The 54th Deadline: Heart

The 54th Deadline: Heart

What is one of the reasons why I have been able to keep going despite technically enduring lots and lots of failures up to this point?

Heart.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t consider myself the most tenacious person out there. I used to be a lot tougher in my own ways, but I have definitely gotten much weaker in terms of resolve.

Still, I persist. I try to keep going forward, even if everything out in the world seems to be tugging me backward every day.

Sometimes, I wonder if I am just an unlucky, unlucky person. It is a big reason why I don’t do things like “speed” while I am driving (even just a little bit). I just think the universe is going to punish me for being a bit daring.

Alas, the more I think about it, the more I realize that gumption and a sense of courage in spite of it all is truly the way for me to advance. Nevertheless, having heart, having that sense of trying to keep myself ingrained in what I am doing day in and day out…

It’s never an easy thing.

I keep going, but I still think I should be further along by now. I feel like I am 10+ steps behind, but I want to make this all work out.

Distractions

Still, there is something about this long, awkward journey that is fun as well. For one thing, I do have plenty of heart when it comes to cooking. It is a passion I definitely have to my name.

Like this was my dinner last night.

I can even turn some leftovers into something spectacular if I put my mind to it. Cases such as this one prove to me that I can do a lot of things when I really do put my mind to it. But am I just distracting my self when I know there are bigger fish to fry? In the meantime, I still like cooking whenever I can. It keeps the mind off of things.

Heart.

Heart is what makes me willing to try each day, to give another shot and to keep living life to the best of my ability.

Obviously, there is always a sense of hope that better days are still ahead of me. It just helps to have some heart and belief that it certainly will at some point.
