The 54th Deadline: Regardless of failure or success, you learn. Life grants people so many chances to get it right.
“I think a big test we all face in life on a regular basis is that discouragement test. Life’s not always fair, but I believe if you keep doing the right thing, God will get you to where you are.” – Joel Osteen
To defeat discouragement is hard. To give up is easy. The latter is something always looming. Life tempts us into throwing in the towel. Why should I bother? Why should we even try any further? But that’s the thing.
You just have to overcome that discouragement. You have to look past it all and just keep hacking away, trucking along with hope. You have to believe you will get there. That everything will happen in due time. That your pursuit of everything you want from life is there, waiting for you at the end.
It may not be apparent. Heck, it may not always get that much easier the more you continue with your personal journey. At times, I do wonder if I am making actual progress.
Regardless, I keep trying. I must try to solve the mystery that is my life. Enigmatic. Inconsistent. Borderline tumultuous and hanging in there by a thread.
I do have to remind myself. Each and every day. Don’t give up.
Don’t give into the thought of surrendering after getting this far.
Emotionally, I feel tested.
Circumstances don’t get any simpler. In fact, they get more challenging.
And yet, deep down, I know I will be on my way as long as I am proactive.
I have to give myself a lot more credit. I made it this far.
Defeating discouragement was too tough for me years ago. I feel more confident about tackling it, facing it head on with some sense of maturity.
I will not let it beat me.
“Hope is my catalyst.” – Nhan Pham
