The 54th Deadline: Regardless of failure or success, you learn. Life grants people so many chances to get it right.
“The creative process is not like a situation where you get struck by a single lightning bolt. You have ongoing discoveries, and there’s ongoing creative revelations. Yes, it’s really helpful to be marching toward a specific destination, but, along the way, you must allow yourself room for your ideas to blossom, take root, and grow.” – Carlton Cuse
I like to call my surges of inspiration “lightning.” For me in particular, it comes and goes. The frequency is unpredictable. I cannot bank on them for a given day. It happens. Or it doesn’t.
It is that simple.
Still, maybe I would be lying if I didn’t wish every day could be a storm up in my mind. A proverbial thunderstorm. Loud, bold and just full of energy.
Alas, I also believe it is a matter of executing on those thoughts and feelings when they do occur.
I find myself thinking a lot. Probably a lot more than the average person.
Trying to make sense of it all.
Not a day goes by where I am not thinking about something, just trying to solve that puzzle in my brain.
How can I take my life to the next level? What can I do to make something out of nothing?
Lightning. I guess I better set up shop and have some lighting rods on standby.
A Shocking Development
Particularly in these past few years, I have started to understand myself better in a variety of ways. Lightning may come and go, but my end game should be about getting it all together. Otherwise, lightning is just striking with no effect. It should be about harnessing its power to improve your life.
Grab hold of that lightning. Catch it and use it to your advantage.
A shock. A jolt. Bolts of brilliance!
“Hope is my catalyst.” – Nhan Pham
